England vs Switzerland: Munich Tragedy Victims to be Honored

Ahead of the England vs Switzerland friendly match, England football federation is planning to show tribute to the victims of Munich tragedy, in which 23 people died including eight Manchester United players. The plane, bringing Manchester United players to home after playing a European Championship match, crashed while it was trying to take off for the third time at the Munich airport. England vs Manchester Untied match will be held at the Wembley Stadium on 6 February, the day to see 50th anniversary of the Munich tragedy. England and Switzerland players will have a minute silence before the match kicks off and players will come to play with black arm band, in order to show their tribute to the victims of Munich tragedy.

ESPN Soccernet reported:

Bevington said: ``We will be having a minute's silence in respect of Munich at the England v Switzerland game.

``We believe very strongly that this should be and will be respected and that there's a feeling across the whole country that a minute's silence is the best and most appropriate way to remember everybody who lost their lives in the tragedy.''

Bevington added: ``The players will be wearing black armbands and there will be film on both giant screens of the Busby Babes.

I think, it is the perfect way to pay the tribute to those who lost their lives in this accident. That was one of the most notable tragedies of football world. I also pray for the salvation of their departed soul.
