Stadium Owners Not Hopeful for Financial Success in EURO 2008

EURO Football tournament is said to be world’s third largest sporting event. So, it is obvious that a lots of investment need to organize a tournament of this king. Well, the amount generated from the tournament is no less at all. However, the owners of different football stadiums in Switzerland are not upbeat for their financial success during the EURO 2008 tournament. With lots of additional expenses, the owners may face even financial loss.

Stefan Niedermaier, Director of Bern's Stade de Suisse, said he is proud that the "his" stadium is involved with arguably the World's third largest sporting event.

But he is also concerned that extra costs caused by such issues as security may cause a loss even before the event.

Niedermaier is understood to have already paid around £55,000 to make adjustments to the stadium just to satisfy UEFA's demands for extra space for the media.
