China to Investigate Mobile Phone Spam

Spreading spam through mobile phone has been increased in China. So, the country is now going though the matter being wry of increased number of mobile spam. Recently, spam messages were sent to two-hundred million phones in China, which brought the attention of the government. So, China has decided to take the matte seriously. The Government has asked China Mobile and China Unicom, top two careers, to take more initiative to stop mobile spam.

Thetechherald reported:

Mobile spam is something that is not entirely new to the realm of mobile phones. However, while the numbers for mobile spam grow in the US, Asia is by far the victim with an average of eight junk text messages per week, per person. This seems like a small number until you take in account that Chain has more than 555 million mobile users.

Xinhua News Agency is reporting that Zhong Zhihong, an official at the Ministry of Information Industry in charge of information security, is urging China Mobile and China Unicom to do more to block the Spam. He pointed out that it is relatively simple to do on their infrastructure.

Though the situation is still under control and it is still possible to reduce the number of spam through mobile phone, China needs to take effective initiative on the matter. Government should do its best to stop mobile spam involving the phone companies.
